Dentures

There are different types of dentures, such as:

Complete dentures or full dentures:

these are full dentures which are worn by patients who have lost all of their teeth. They are removable devices that are used to replace missing teeth. Dentures are usually made of acrylic.

Partial dentures:

these are dental dentures that are used by patients who have lost a few teeth; they still have some natural teeth. They are designed to fill in the gap that has been created by the missing teeth. Partial dentures may be clipped and unclipped when they are needed. They can be made of acrylic, have a chrome base or made of a flexible material for better comfort.

Immediate dentures:

these dentures are placed immediately after the teeth have been extracted. In this instance, the immediate denture may become loose-fitting after 1 month. At this point, it can be refined. Usually, an immediate denture needs to be remade after 1 year. This is due to bone remodelling

Implant-supported dentures:

these are dentures which receive retention from underlying implant bodies.
